I’ve been rather busy lately, what with getting engaged and all, so I’m sure I can be forgiven for not doing any writing over the past couple of weeks! However, here’s a little ditty I wrote for my nan’s 90th birthday, which was earlier this month:
Happy birthday Nana,
It’s time to celebrate,
For not everyone can boast,
Getting to ninety years of age!
In that time you’ve married,
Had two daughters of your own,
Six grand-kids, who’ve had kids themselves,
You’re seeing them all grow.
You lived for years in Butchers Lane,
Now Fiske Court is your home,
Where you sit and knit, and watch TV,
Or round the shops you roam.
You’ve had a healthy life so far,
Let’s hope it stays that way,
So in ten years time, we’ll all be here,
On your next land-mark birthday!
